Re: Orb 2.50 US has been released!
Tried new release, 2.51.0032. with the same result as before, no tray icon appears, and no live tv stream with ATI All In Wonder 7500. Even though I know it's not supported, it did work in the 2.01.049 configuration. Sent in zipped log file referencing this thread, and then reinstalled 2.01.049 which is again providing a tray icon and live tv stream. However a new problem is that there is no program guide info, except for the channel numbers. This had worked previously. Any ideas. Thanks..... wizkid wrote: syaye wrote: Understand that ATI is not supported, but it does work in the previous config. Any clue as to why the tray icon doesn't appear? If your tuner has worked in 2.01 series then it should work with 2.50.0185 but really not sure why it is not working for you. We will start troubleshooting the tray icon issue first and then move on to the Live TV streaming issue. Please zip up and mail your OrbLogs folder to userlogs@orb.com also reference this forum post. Before sending us your logs please try restarting Orb after quitting all Orb process at taskmanager (check for OrbLauncher, Orbtray, Orb ControlPanel, etc).

Re: Orb 2.50 US has been released!
this 2.5 update is terrible. the video quality off my OTA tuner is awful, no matter how fast i set the streaming speed. not only that, it doesnt work. after a few min the audio starts popping and cracking, the voices get really deep and then it stops alltogether. using an AverTV Duet ATSC dual tuner in winVista64bit btw. however, streaming off my cable box with a RCA composite cable still works as it should, no problems there at all.
having to go into the registry just to change some simple ports is, well i love orb and i hate to say it like this but that is just stupid. the advanced config page was never hard to figure out, it is unbelieveable the developers took that page out. it baffles me.
i am forced to downgrade now, which is unfortunate because it took a long time to setup the channel guide to what i have and not all the other channels. oh well, i appreciate all the work that has gone into orb, i just hope we dont see it go in the wrong direction.

Would really really love to have this working with Orb so that I don't have transcode recorded shows to a compatible format Otherwise, good work, Orb team (but bring back to the Orb control panel some of those previous options, please ) I am looking to do exactly this - playHauppague HD-PVR files : Has this been resolved Also (separate question) can Orb transcode these files fine so that I can view them remotely over the internet? thx

thx I would suggest you to create a separate thread under Orb for Windows and also let us know the problem(s) you encountered while streaming h.264/.ts files so I can try and help you. Also make sure to provide details about your setup like OS, exact Orb version, etc.

Re: Orb 2.50 US has been released!
I did this and now my ORB does stream direct PC to PC but it also does not stream through the server.
I would like it to try direct first and if it doesn't work go through the server.
Prior to making the below changes it would never stream direct.
Ken
By default, Orb will automatically detect default streaming ports, if you have a customized port configuration, you still have a workaround:
Try this: 1. Click Start > Run > then type: regedit* 2. Navigate to : - 32bit PC: Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | Software | OrbNetworks | Orb | CabClient - 64bit PC: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SOFTWARE | Wow6432Node | Orb Networks | Orb | CabClient then create a DWORD "mmsport" (default 80) with decimal value to the HTTP port as per your requirement. Similarly DWORD "rtspport" (default 554) for RTSP and DWORD "udpport" for first RTSP UDP port (default 13398), Orb will also use the 4 following ports.

Yes, from the PC runing ORB and my 1950 adapter to any other PC watching the stream.
I can no longer stream to my work due to no direct connections from work to home pc allowed. When streaming from my home PC to the ORB server then to my work PC worked fine but I can no longer do that since I made the registry changes.

Re: Orb 2.50 US has been released!
Im back to 2.0 to. This version is terrible. It wont go over 850kbs in streaming when I can get up to 5300kbps in 2.0.

Re: Orb 2.50 US has been released!
I have just uninstalled orb 2.0 but did not delete the settings. Then installed 2.5 over it and now my Streams are not locked to 850kBps anymore. Whats the deal here? This seems to be some kind of a bug. However it does stutter alot and it doesnt support resuming from a specified time. Back to 2.0.1
