I am trying to get TV working using OrbLive. I am in the UK.
I can stream music AND video's fine from my PC and i have recently bought a Hauppage TV USB Stick DVB-T 900H which i was hoping would do the trick. I can watch TV fine on my PC using WinTV but for the life of me cannot get it to work on the Iphone 3GS (3.0).

I can go through all the steps but when it does the scan bit (using the config bit in the tray) it seems to find channels OK (I think) BUT there is a big box on the left hand side of the screen which is empty (is this supposed to show a preview or something??).

I get the Failed to Play message on the iphone. I cannot seem to get it working using the MyCast thing either.

Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated.

i am running 64bit Vista btw. Been reading about the SoftMCE encoder, anyone have a direct link? Happauge site seems to only have one for a 950Q but mine is a 900H

Heres a strange thing, i partially got it working but now its not working again.
What i did was change the port number to 81 (is was set to 80) and i managed to stream stuff (BBC1) to my iphone (oh the hapiness).
After that i scanned for channels again as i moved my aerial and now i cannot get it to work again. I am now getting 'Failed to play media' for some channels and 'Unexpected Error' for others.
One thing i did notice though was that when i clicked on the ones that say 'Failed to play media' the processor on the PC certainly does something and when it did work i noticed a FFDShow icon in the tray, can seem to get this anymore, anyone know what i can do?

I suspect that your tuner device is most likely unavailable while Orb trying to grab it. First make sure that your tuner is properly connected, restart Orb, run TV Configuration, try to stream Live TV via http://mycast.orb.com on your Orb PC and then try it via OrbLive.

I think i need a step by step guide on this one as this is slowly doing my head in

Heres what i can do
1. I can stream music (to both iphone and pc - mycast)
2. I can stream videos (to both iphone and pc - mycast)

Heres what i cannot do
1. Stream TV to iphone OR pc

I have gone throught the steps of setting up the channels and i guess it found them (although i am still a bit confused on this bit)
When i choose the channels i go through the antenna bit and then it asks me to select the channels that i want. What i do at this stage is select them ALL. Then it does some stuff and i seem to be at the same screen again where it scans the channels and finds them. I save what i recognise but there is a blank (white) window on the left hand side of the box (should this contain something?? like a preview or is it intentionally left blank?)
Anyway, once all of these channels have been selected i go onto the iphone and i can see all of the icons for the channels under LiveTV and the programmes that are currently being shown.
I click them and i get the unexpected error message sometimes and sometimes get the cannot play media message.
On MyCast i cannot get it working either. Must be a simple thing that i am missing here. I have forwarded the ports correctly (using 81 on router and in Orb).
Anyone have any bright ideas on how to get it working?

Forget to mention that the tv part works fine in WinTV7 if thats of any help. On reading previous posts it might appear that i should be seeing a preview in the 'white box' that i mentioned. Maybe this is the problem?

Tried this again last night.
Uninstalled everything, all Hauppage stuff and also Orb. Reinstalled JUST the drivers for the TV stick.
Saw another post which seemed to indicate the frequencies that you can input into a text file and overwrite the one on the system. I did this but it still does not work.
Getting slightly cross now as i am spending way too much time trying to sort this one out and its cost me £5.99 for the privalege.
Anyone have any bright ideas as to what to do now?
Preview in scan still doesnt show a preview although i suppose it wouldnt as i am hardcoding the frequencies (assuming these are correct).
Does anyone have a comprehensive list of what the frequencies should be for Crystal Palace in the UK?

In 2.01.0044, there exists a known issue of previewing channels on Vista Home Premium PCs hence blank white window.

I would suggest you to try the following:

Rerun TV Setup
When Orb detects your DVB-T channels like ITV1, ITV2, etc just save those channels
Make sure that your detected channels are listed at Mycast.
Try to stream those detected channels via http//mycast.orb.com on your Orb PC and then try it on your iPhone.

Let me know the results so i can try and help you.

Ok, I got it all up and running now.
The only problem i have now is that ITV1 isnt actually ITV1, its ITV2+1
Does anyone know how to find ITV1 ie what the frequencies are?
