I think all the Orb developers have been kidnapped by Steve Jobs and are being held on apple Island! A week of posts about all the bugs we have found and not a single word from Orb? Come on guys! Lets get this show back on track

It would be great to have some feedback during buffering that displays actual progress instead of the default 'spinny' thing. Also, it would be nice to have the capability to stop a stream during the first phase of buffering -- before you get the 'spinny' thing in the middle of the screen with black background. It's easy to get stuck in the first phase and there's no way out besides killing the application.

To the folks at Orb: Can you give us any sort of update on the progress with the next beta release? Any word from Apple yet? It would be great to get an update, as you guys haven't posted in a while...

This has got me puzzled. ORB reports DirectStream is running. No firewall is running. Orb.exe and OrbTray.exe are running. I have no browser access local or lan. Tips? Tricks? Hints? TIA!

Leaking it to people would not be beneficial. First off, and probably the biggest thing, unless apple has your UDID on file, the app won't even run. ORB has to submit that to Apple in order to activatet the app on your phone.

Second, it's just going to bite the hand that feeds you. Why risk angering apple and your chance to get this app approved for the App Store. Not good biz.

I realize that you guys really want this app. Please be patient. Good things come to those who wait.

gosh...It sounds like I work for these guys.....and I don't......

I think some better error messages as to why the system didn't connect would be helpful during this beta testing period. Right now, we have no idea why OrbLive didn't' get connected. I find that I can continually try and retry, and eventually it will connect and start streaming the video. There's just no rhyme or reason as to why it didn't connect, just says that could not stream media. Also, not sure if this is a guide issue, but I get two channel 30s. Both are ESPN2 on the listing, not sure why there's 2 of them.

I can confirm that incoming calls will pause OrbLive. If you ignore call then on return to OrbLive, video is paused and cannot be continued unless you go back to TV channels and re-select to re-start stream. Also after you restart stream, all I got was Video, no audio.

Had to exit OrbLive and Restart to get both Video and audio

Thanks for the reply. I figured it out. What I was missing was I needed to add users in "configuration" and then set up each user with the specific folders I wanted them to have access to.

I would pay for an app like orb, however I think it would be a bit unfair to charge iPhone owners only and not all phone owners I.e people who have nokia N95's.

If orb hits the app store how about making the 1st 1000 downloads free then charge for it?

mine crashes alot like I said in my first post. The most frequent is when i've just navigated a few sub-directories (no videos in them) and going into a folder with the videos in it and/or while scrolling through the videos in a folder.

I suspect that you would have inadvertently changed the interface. The best way is to clear your mobile browsers cache / cookies and try again.

As your TV setup includes a set-top box, you need an Infra-Red (IR) Blaster such as the ones included in Microsoft MCE-compatible Remote Control devices to change Live TV channels in Orb.
