Post Re: Post LG BD570 DLNA compliant device does not connect Orb
I wanted to post also that I encounter the same "turn off" behavior when selecting orb on an LG BD670.

Failed connection from Sony Bravia TV.
The OrbDMS logs do not include information about the requestor (e.g. source IP) - but this might be the event

[ERROR] - Unknown action GetProtocolInfo for serviceId "urn:upnp-org:serviceId:ConnectionManager

Post Samsung SmartTV not recognising Orb media from Mac OS X
Could be quite specific this, hence not sure where to post it.

I have a Samsung SmartTV (2011 model), and am running Orb on my Mac Mini running Snow Leopard.

The TV detects Orb as a network uPnP server, no problem, and it allows me to browse all the folders. But any video I try to play is not in a recognised format.

However - I can play the same movies via TVMobili, and direct by plugging the hard disc into the TV. So the TV obviously has the necessary codecs.

Any ideas?

BTW. I am alternatively disabling TVMobili or Orb, and trying the other one, so there shouldn't be port clashes. I'm not using TVMobili because it keeps restarting itself constantly, and I'd prefer to have just one service for everything (I'm a long-term Orb user)

Hi dskeeles,

I would guess that Orb Caster is encoding the videos in a format that is not compatible with your Samsung TV. To make sure of that, your logs would be helpful.

Could you please do the following:
1. In the Control Panel, General tab, make sure that 'Enable debug logs' is checked.
2. Try to play a few videos from the Orb server, if possible with different formats or encodings.
3. Send your logs to Orb (Control Panel -> General Tab -> 'Send Logs to Orb...' button).

Also, are you able to play audio files from the Orb server on your TV?

Thanks a lot
