Post Force ORB To Show All Capture Devices
Does anyone know of a definitive way to force Orb 1.x to show all of the capture devices it detects (as seen in the About | System Info) dialoge in the TV - WebCams area of the GUI ?

There used to be an XML file that held the information and could be tweaked, but it does not seem to exist anymore. Any help would be appreciated.

....more helpful details...
Trying to use a software product called "CamSplitter by http://www.softservice.org/products_camsplitter.html .

It allows more than one application to access a WDM driver without locking out the other applications. So I have a DVR application that needs to see the WDM device (webcam or other) and I would also like Orb to see the same device. I have no problem assigning the CamSplitter driver to my DVR application, but Orb only sees the drivers in it's System Info dialoge and not in the TV - Webcams area of it's GUI.

Found the XML file in question, but making the recommended changes doesn't help anymore. Maybe the functionality is removed since Orb ver 1.01.0695.

Anyhow, here is the information in case it is still helpful for someone:

"If devices are shown by the ORB System Info dialog, does that not mean that they have been detected and sould be usable because they are using WDM drivers compatible with ORB ?"
Not necessarily. In fact, Orb only copies the list of devices detected by Windows and displays it in the System Info dialog.

"... why the PCI capture device was correctly appearing in the Webcam category, but now appears only under Manage TV Tuners."
This is a fluke, and we are not sure why it appears as such. However, you can correct that by edit the file db.xml located in C:\Program Files\Orb Networks\Orb\bin, and put a 0 as a "tuner" value as in the Logitech QuickCam Pro 3000 example below:

[device]
[name]Logitech QuickCam Pro 3000 (08B0)[/name]
[tuner]0[/tuner]
[mpeg2]0[/mpeg2]
[audioDevice]Logitech Microphone (Pro 3000)[/audioDevice]
[/device]
