Windows 7 and Local Streams (VLC and Webcams)
I just upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate last night. This required me to upgrade Orb to version 2.5. I had been running 2.0 for a year now without any issues, but after the Windows upgrade 2.0 would not work. I have a couple of issues though with this new configuration.
First, I use VLC to transcode and stream an internet radio stream to Orb because the stream is in aacPlus and Orb does not support that. Since the upgrade, Orb cannot open the VLC stream. If I use the Flash player, it attempts quickly and then quits. If I use WMP, the stream gives me an error in WMP that it cannot access the file. This had been working for over a month prior to this upgrade. I know VLC is streaming because I can click on the URL in Orb custom Internet Radio channel and the stream will launch in WMP (I am streaming in a Windows Media format to keep it simple for Orb).
Second, I use OrbLive Free on my iPod Touch. Since upgrading, it logs into my Orb account, but it pulls up recorded radio recordings that have since been deleted and does not display what is currently recorded and saved. I rebooted the iPod and checked to see if the Orb app had any updates, but neither worked.
Finally, I tried to see how the webcam worked, and I have a nice thumbnail from the webcam, but when I try to stream it on Orb, I get an error saying the file or data could not be found on the PC hosting Orb. This is a similar error to what I have gotten with some of the things I have tried to do while getting the VLC stream to work.
I suspect these are all related and does not seem to be related to Windows 7, but more related to Orb 2.5. Does anyone know how to resolve any or all of these?

Re: Windows 7 and Local Streams (VLC and Webcams)
My experience with Orb 2.5 has been exactly the same as yours; Win 7, same time frame, everything. Even my audio streams are choppy even though I have 2+ MBit upload, and everything was smooth with Orb 2.0 under XP. But my default streaming ports are 81, so hopefully after I EDIT THE REGISTRY this will run more smoothly. (PS, Orb people, this is completely retarded on your part. Writing a program with default settings in order to compensate for people who are technophobes is a good idea. Removing the ability for people who know what they're doing to tweak the system is stupid stupid stupid. This is why so many smart people hated Vista. And how many people using Orb will be technophobes anyway?)
But my main problem is that when streams start, the audio is literally slowed down like it's being played on an underpowered record player. I'm surprised that that can even happen. What's the deal?
