 Re: blackberry 8330
This is definitely not an Orb issue. We would first like to know whether you can stream audio / video on your Orb PC or another PC via http://mycast.orb.com. Also note that http://test.orb.com is meant for mobile devices and not PCs One of our forum user has recently confirmed that he CAN stream media via Orb on his BB8330, please have a look at this forum thread : viewtopic.php?p=63350#p63350

 Re: blackberry 8330
I understand the test site is for mobile devices and not pc's, when I go to the device information from my mobile device (bb 8330) it says my phone is a pc brand unknown running windows xp with mozzilla firefox and nothing works from the test site, my phone use to be able to stream, if it isnt on orbs side, why does it say my phone is a pc? my phone is bb curve 8330 os v.5.0.175 (platform v.3.4.0.55) this device information has to be false on orbs end, I cant see my phone sending false information, but can see orb reading false information.

 Re: blackberry 8330
We have seen few devices incorrectly detected at http://test.orb.com but this seems to be a peculiar case where it is detecting your mobile device as a PC, anyway we will check this for you. Since the other user has confirmed that he can stream media via Orb on his BB8330, we suspect you most likely have issues streaming on your Orb PC or another PC via http://mycast.orb.com. Could you please confirm that you can stream media on your Orb PC or another PC?

 Re: blackberry 8330
Hey, you should first try to stream this url rtsp://a1352.l1857053128.c18570.g.lq.akamaistream.net/D/1352/18570/v0001/reflector:53128 on your BB to see if you can stream. If you cannot then the problem is with your mobile company.

 Re: blackberry 8330
I went to the site and it looks like maybe a nasa site? yes I can stream on that site, and I stream from youtube the issue is wit hthe recognition of the device either from my phone or from the orb networks, but it seems that when I sign onto orb via my pc runninng orb, my laptop or my phone they all has the same pc and ip address

 Re: blackberry 8330
I just got off the phone with sprint who is the carrier for my phone, they resent all my web capabilities, and we also wiped my os of the phone clean to start the phone back as if it were new, nothing has changed, I can still stream on the site mentioned above and from youtube, I have posted a few months ago about orb recognizing my phone incorrectly here is part of the post> while on the test site, it says my phone is a 8703 verizon wireless. not sure why it would say verizon wireless, my phone is a sprint phone. is it possible the phone took a update it wasnt suppose to of a verizon software but the recognition is now of a pc can someone help, please?

 Re: blackberry 8330
Hey, wondering how you are seeing your device as Verizon when you wiped your OS and using sprint, doesn't seems to be logical.

 Re: blackberry 8330
was seeing verizon before, then later was seeing my device as a pc running firefox, I wiped my os clean and and started again but with a update also and am unable to read my device information on the test site, however I did install opera mini and am able to stream from there now but I still get unsupported format on the test site, doesnt make sense. P.S the streaming I can do no is random, streams sometimes and doesnt others

 Re: blackberry 8330
for about the past week or so orb has been able to stream my music and photo's but still get unsupposrted format from the test site and no video stream at all, has orb found any glitches and making changes or is this just a lucky coincidence?

immjg wrote: WOW That works for me on my BB 8330 FULLSCREEN!!! WHY won't my ORB? We actually do not detect the device nor attempt to determine screen size and other parameters of your phone: we use the information contained in the user-agent string sent by your device (in the HTTP header) each time it requests a stream, without any interpretation from our side. So, either that information is incorrect, or there is none at all - in which case, we query online databases (on-the-fly) for such info.

I just looked at your other posts you posted for your issue and found that we have already given many suggestions and i can also see others using this device successfully without issues, so i suspect that your issue is specific to your device or network or environment which is very hard for us to guess. As a final suggestion, try to use an Orb account from another PC / another location to see if that makes any difference. To answer your question: yes, we recently deployed a new web build (2.50.0395.14) at http://mycast.orb.com.
