Post Win7 No Audio with Hauppauge PVR250 (hardware encoding)
I am running Windows 7 32bit, Hauppage PVR250 PCI (hardware encoding). Windows Media Center sees the card fine and everything works as expected. When I run Orb 2.5 (and 2.0) the preview window in the control panel sometimes will show a black screen or the channel with no audio. Going to mycast and launching the stream I always get video but no audio (even though media center plays it fine). Here is the weird part, if I run MCE, exit it (with the MCE receiver service still running), Orb complains its in use, I stop the service, hit refresh, the orb control panel crashes. When I can get the orb control panel to crash and go back to mycast, the video and audio are playing great. I can switch channels and everything is fine. If I go to a new PC or restart the computer it goes back to just video...

I tried using the default Windows drivers and the latest from Hauppauge (who has win7 drives for the pvr250). Any ideas? I would hate to have to resort back to MythTv just to get mobile tv on my phone.

I spent my life to understand your problem, clear case it is a environment specific issue.... :D :D

This is a fresh new win7 install, literally the only thing installed on it are windows updates, the pvr250 driver, and orbcast.

Can anyone suggest a card that works win with7 (32 bit or 64) and orbcast? Preferabbly on the cheap side, I'm fine with straight coax into it in standard def.

Try HVR 1950 tuner.

I reinstalled the OS and used Vista 32bit and it works fine, it must be something with windows 7 and orb. However I now get some audio slowness (deeper tones) after watching for a while which I think was a post elsewhere...
