 Windows 7 Streaming
I've been using Orb for a long time and it was working GREAT. Until I upgraded to Windows 7. Now, when I stream via Phone, I have to buffer constantly. I've double checked my settings and I'm not uploading anything.. I've even tried using my phone over Wifi... on the SAME NETWORK. So I know it's not a bandwidth issue. This even happened when I downgraded the speed to like 80kbps, which is ridiculously low.
Does anyone know why Orb is so slow with Windows 7? It was fine with Vista... not with Windows 7 (or at least the newest version of Orb... since I had to reinstall after I upgraded).

I would suggest you to set your device speed by accessing Settings > Speed on your mobile, then enter a lower value than what is detected, check the Use Fixed Speed, then Save & Exit. You may have to test a few values before settling for the one that gives you the best streaming experience.

 Re: Windows 7 Streaming
This I know.
I've been using Orb for 5 years now. When I run the speed test, it's giving me like.. 400-500kbps. I'm usually run it at around 160, since that's all my phone needs. It hasn't had any problems and has been pretty smooth for at least a few years on the same computer/connection. The only change has been Windows 7 and/or the newer version of Orb.
Like I said, I tried downgrading it to 80kbps even and it's still buffering every like 10 seconds or so, even when I stream over wifi (Which is even faster).

I'm running Orb on Windows 7 and am not having that issue. Have you watched your processor to ensure that it's not getting slammed when streaming TV? I know that can be a big issue with Orb because of the transcoding, and maybe something else running in Windows that you're not familiar with in 7 is also working in the background.

 Re: Windows 7 Streaming
I'm noticing the same behavior. I was using Orb for a while on a Windows XP machine, recently bought an entirely new more powerful machine and installed Win 7 Professional x64.
When I stream an audio file, it always buffers for quite a while at the beginning of the file. If I stream an hour long file, I only have problems during the first minute. So if I'm playing a CD, there's problems in between each song. It sounds almost like a record player playing too slow once it's done buffering for an instant. After that hiccup things are fine.
I'm running the latest ver of Orb, couldn't find where to set the speed settings in this version, the sys tray control panel is much different.

Same problem!! It worked fine on vista \ xp but now on my win7 x64 ultimate box it buffers all the time and sometimes will just completely stall and I have to resume playback by opening up the movie again.

Thanks for sending your logs but it appears that you are streaming media using Orb stream servers which is due to the fact that Orb is unable to bind default streaming port (TCP 80) hence establishing the stream using our stream servers. Just have a look at OrbStreamerproxy.log and do a keyword search " Server audio stream" which would explain. Make sure that port 80 is not blocked and then try again. See : http://support.orb.com/kb/entry/221/ and http://support.orb.com/kb/entry/119/

Just have a look at your Orbstreamerproxy.log (as indicated in the above thread) and revert so i can try and help you.
