Post Songs get cut off when streaming to WMP Mobile 10 (HTC TP2)
Hey all,

I've been having problems using Orb (2.51.0032) to stream audio to my HTC Touch Pro 2 phone (using the stock WMP Mobile 10). For some reason it will usually only play 30-40 seconds of a song and then start playing the next one. There is no lag or buffering before the next song starts to play so I don't believe it is a connection issue. Another thing I've noticed is that the beginnings of songs are usually cut off by a second or two when they start. I have Orb setup to auto-detect connection speed (which is currently 214kbps). Ocassionally a song will play to the end but this is rare. As a note, i live in Los Angeles and have no problem keeping a 3G connection with 2-4 bars.

Looking forward to getting all the kinks worked out. I'm a Win 7 Media Center user as well and enjoy streaming live tv from my home pc. Orb is great!!

To narrow down your issue further, please let us know the following:

- What audio file type are you trying to stream?
- Are you able to stream those audio file fine on your Orb Pc via http://mycast.orb.com?
- What happens when you stream media on your device using WiFi?

Thanks wizkid...

- All my songs are mp3s encoded at 192k.
- Streaming from my pc at home or at work (via http://mycast.orb.com) will always play the songs to the end but the beginnings of songs are usually still missing a couple seconds.
- Streaming on my phone via wifi has all the same problems I detailed in my first post(I guess that rules out Verizon Wireless data connection as the culprit).

I appreciate the help! Hope we can sort this out...

UPDATE: I've discovered that *sometimes* by using the "previous song" "next song" arrows in WMP Mobile that I can get songs to start and play to the end. If I don't, once this problem starts, every song only plays partway through, skipping to and then the next one starts and does the same thing...

Sorry, as you are aware, it is not easy to troubleshoot an issue that occurs only sometimes on your phone (which is indicative of your network environment).

Thank you for the understanding.

In my research on this problem I stumbled across a very similar issue with users trying to stream from Pandora. There is some talk regarding TCP Window Size settings. Are you (or anyone here) familiar with how changing this value in the registry might affect streaming? I'm hesitant to change my value using the config tool mentioned as I'm not sure if I'll be able to return to my default if it ends up causing problems. The thread I'm referring to can be found here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=85786&page=3
