Post Problems with audio stuttering - streaming mp3s
I am having trouble playing my music files with the "Play All" function. Most of the posts on this forum deal with issues of streaming videos and TV, but all I really want to stream is my music. I am streaming to my phone (T-Mobile G1 - Android platform - cupcake). The problem occurs when I try to select a folder, and choose "play all". It will stream perfectly for about 5-7 minutes, and then it will begin to skip and stutter. The music files are all mp3s, and most are 160kbps. There are only music files in these folders. I have Sirius working perfectly using uSirius on the PC. I just ran a speed test, and my home internet is 11.34Mb/sec - upload was 1.36Mb/sec (test run under normal circumstances for this computer).

I have tried setting fixed speeds on my phone ranging from 250KB/sec-1000KB/sec. Stream is set to 3GP format. I have been running 3G most of the time. Even after I switched to WiFi, the problem persisted.

I attempted to use the test.orb.com site, but the phone would not stream ANY of the files. It simply would download them, and that would be that.

I have not tried using playlists. I have no idea if this would fix it, for some reason...

My login is the same as my name for this forum.

Orb v2.50.0185
My CPU - AMD Phenom 9950 (4 x 2.6GHz)
PC running Win7 RC

Thanks for any help!!!

This still is not working for me.

I still only get about 5-7 minutes of audio, and then it begins to cut in and out. This is after installing Windows 7 official.

Anyone have any guesses????

I went through the link to configure the router on the "Useful Links..." post. I configured the router successfully, and tried again on the G1. Again, my audio began skipping at about 5 minutes.

I played the same folder with Orb on my PC (the same PC that is running Orb). The PC did not have any trouble playing the same files.

The only difference I noticed is that the PC played each track as a separate stream, but the G1 combined all the files into one long stream. Im assuming its supposed to be this way, though.

I then created a playlist in Orb using PC, and then I tried to use it on the G1, thinking that maybe it would handle a playlist differently. Same result. Skipping/stuttering after about 5-7 min.

I believe the audio is being opened by default by the Music app on the G1. Sometimes, it will try to open an audio stream as a video file in Meridian. AndrOrb tries to play everything as a video in Meridian, and so I always get failures, and I simply cannot use it.

Guesses???? PLEASE!!!?!?!?!?!?!

Sorry for the delay. We confirm that this issue is reproducible in our labs (thanks for the exact steps). Hopefully it should be fixed in an upcoming version of Orb.

We really appreciate your patience.
