I have correct permissions and everything but Orb still does not work

i have the same issue as well, although i'm not sure what you refer to when you say you have the correct permissions. correct permissions on what? or where?

i'm on a mac pro, 2 x 2.93GHz 32GB RAM and tons of disk space.

i downloaded and installed 2.52.0030 (which seems odd considering at this point in time 2.52.0027 is being touted as the newest release -- viewtopic.php?f=34&t=23193)

i then created /LIbrary/OrbNetworks (per viewtopic.php?p=64937)

launched the app, logged in, was into the setup wizard and immediately got a crash. orb stays "initializing" forever, and the orb crash reporter gets launched. CrashID=bp-951f4536-cca3-424a-9340-6282a2091107

is this really GA software? seems more like beta.

Could you please zip up your logs folder (you can find Orb logs in /Library/Logs/OrbNetworks) and send it to userlogs@orb.com with a reference to this forum thread?

/Library/Logs/OrbNetworks does not exist on my machine

and /Library/OrbNetworks is empty

when the app is launched it is by a user that is simply a 'standard' account

Install Orb from an admin user. This may resolve your issue

"may"? so you don't really know and you're having me do your qa by taking a shotgun approach.

i give up. the installation is buggy; support is weak; documentation is non-existent. and judging by the rest of the posts in the forum this isn't the last issue i'm going to have to deal with.

add me to the "hey, we've got a real product now, seriously" mailing list and i "may" try it again. until then, here's hoping the uninstaller works.

i guess it's true, you really do get what you pay for.
