yeap. I double that.
Orb is all I need on my G1. Making it work on androib will make G1 so powerful that iphone will eat its dust.
Not really sure if Android has data streaming classes available to develop an Orb player for it or not.
Hello Dev Team, are you guys listening?

So the G1 is out ! ! ! Anyone out there from ORB listening
so now that The G1 has been out for a full day , and the SDK has been out for a couple of days . Can anyone from orb begin a beta for this puppy ? How long does it take to write an orb client for an open source ? ? ? and what makes it easier is that there is no " APPLE" to approve it JUST WRITE AND AND RELEASE IT ON THE ANDROID MARKET . PLEASE INCLUDE ME IN THE BETA

I am also voicing my desire to see an OrbLive application in the Android Marketplace.
Please tell us that there are plans to get underway with the development of this application. Nothing against the iPhone, but ATT blows and i really dont want another windows mobile phone. Please, Orb, please, dont force me into antoher windows mobile phone, i dont think i can handle that for another 2 years.

Do you have more information on that new player?
AFAIK the native Android framework only supports streaming of pre-encoded mp4 videos, like the iPhone. Which means we can't stream live content via Orb as is, until we or someone else develops a player that supports some live video streaming formats (which is what we had to do on the iPhone).

I also request an actuall aplication, as an ex windows mobile user that is now on android I really don't want to see the browser interfaced with whatever video player that becomes the most common. Rather a nice quick open source application that wows everyone with it interface. Even a slow program is faster than a fast browser. Besides if android really is the future (imo), then be an early adopter. Let your streaming application also become everyones favorite android app for ALL media.

I'm just checking in to see if there was any progress at all on an android version of orblive. I know there have been a couple video players that have been released in the android marketplace which play mp4 and 3gp formatted videos from a memory card. I'm confident these players do not support streaming video however. I'm also not sure how much more difficult it is to develop a streaming video application.
I do have a pretty basic question which I hope some one can confirm. If a developer were to release a streaming video app or a flash player app into the marketplace, would android users be able to play content using mycast.orb.com thru the phone's web browser?

 Orb on Android
Here's an update on Orb on Android and the G1.
The native Android media player stack actually supports some live video streaming (3gp over RTSP). The RTSP implementation was not compatible with Orb out of the box, but we were able to fix it.
We will release a new version of Orb that supports video streaming on Android sometime next week. At the same time, we will release an update of mycast.orb.com to play nice with the Android browser. After that release, you will be able to use Orb and stream everything (including live TV) from the browser.
We are also working on an native Android app for Orb, but have not any time estimate.

Thanks Yohan!
Thats terrific news. Many thanks to those working hard at Orb to give your users what they want. Heres hoping our friends in the iPhone forum can get their good news sometime soon.
Also, id be willing and greatful to be a part of the beta testing for the native android app whenever that is ready to roll out.
Thanks again.

Thanks for the update yohan! I can't wait to see orb on my new phone, especially since it has wifi unlike my old WinMo phone. Thanks to orb for being so quick to respond, and for getting all that media off my computer and to wherever I am in the first place.
