Post Being able to stream higher quality audio
For my 7500, Orb works PERFECTLY for streaming video over Ev-DO. My only complaint would be that the audio quality isn't as good as I think it could be. It'd be nice if streaming AAC or something like that was possible... if not due to technical difficulties, tis' alright since Orb is already fairly excellent! :D

With Orb everything is possible :-) Go to the Tools page and select the "High quality" option under 3GP, it switches to AAC.

Ahhh... alas, I receive the "Error M04" message. Oh well, maybe in the future!

OK, thanks for reporting this. We are aware that the AAC option is not working with some phones and will try to fix it soon.

Will ORB be supporting streaming out to other devices using AAC in .pls playlist files?

Winamp and TCPMP (for windows smartphones and pocket pcs) support AAC over .pls playlist files, and the audio is MUCH better than streaming over windows media or realmedia.

We fixed AAC for 3GP phones, send me a pm if you're interested in a beta version.

WinAmp streams will be available soon on PC. I don't know yet about TCPMP with AAC.

I know that 3gp would allow for AAC streaming, but the 3gp out of ORB simply doesn't work with TCPMP.

I didn't know if .pls function was going to be added or not, but it certainly would be nice to have that ability to stream AAC.

FYI, WinAmp is available now as an option in Tools if you have the latest PC version installed (638 or better)

How do you force it to use winamp? Or maybe I should ask... are people using winamp to display vidoes also? I tried both and couldn't even get winamp to play my audio. I switched back to WMP and it worked right away. I would like all my audio to be played in winamp and video's to be played in WMP... I am hoping this option will be available in the next release.

Yes, WinAmp works for both audio and video. You need at least the full free version of WinAmp 5.12 to use it with Orb.
