Post Enhancement: Custom Internet Radio and XM Online Streams
As most folks are aware, windows media streams cant be played natively on mobile phones (save PDAs). We must have our streams in 3gp.

XM provides to their subscribers a free internet stream of most of the channels. However, these are "secure streams" and require you to be logged in and a randomly generated key is created to successfully connect to these streams. In addition, there is a free 3-day trial users can sign up for if they dont currently subscribe.

How difficult would it be to implement a similar function into the custom streams page? I really would like the ability to listen to my XM account when I'm away from my car, and away from my PC. This secure login and key generation thing should be easy enough to implement, the only catch would be the on the fly re-encoding to 3gp.

On the flip side, Sirus also offers a similar streaming service, however I am not aware of its specifics.

this would be very cool, I as a Sirius subscriber would like it for Sirius. Another option would be, to have your home computer running the orb host software, have that connected to XM or Sirius and be streaming music, and then somehow through orb, just have an option to listen to whatever is currently playing on your home pc?
